Step into the world of acclaimed wildlife artist Larry K. Martin for an inspiring afternoon of art, storytelling, and discovery. Join us for “Ephemeral Eden – Stories Behind the Paintings,” where Larry shares the adventures, inspirations, and insights that have shaped his remarkable career. This special presentation offers a rare chance to hear directly from one of America’s most celebrated wildlife artists whose work has captured the beauty of the natural world for generations.

Renowned for his intricate, lifelike depictions of wildlife, Larry K. Martin, an Anniston native and former tropical medicine researcher, has spent decades honoring nature through art and conservation. After earning his Ph.D. from Tulane University and conducting fieldwork in the Amazon, Martin returned to Alabama to pursue his lifelong artistic calling. His works—more than 400 editions—are found in major corporate and private collections around the world, including those of President George H. W. Bush, Colin Powell, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

For more than three decades, The Wren’s Nest at the Carriage House in historic downtown Anniston served as Larry’s home gallery—a welcoming space where collectors and admirers could experience his love of nature and art firsthand. Today, The Wren’s Nest at the Oxford Performing Arts Center continues that legacy, introducing his work to an ever-growing audience. The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and during all OPAC performances.

A reception (limited capacity - rsvp requested) in the Wren’s Nest Gallery will follow the presentation, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the first exhibition of Larry’s artwork at OPAC. Admission is complimentary and open to the public.  To RSVP to the reception, visit oxfordpac.org/lmkreception.
