Oxford Community Chorus
The mission of the Oxford Community Chorus is to promote arts and cultural activities for the City of Oxford and Oxford Performing Arts Center by providing an outlet for musicians and audience participation. Membership is open to vocalists ages 16 and up. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 PM at OPAC. All current and former chorus members and other vocalists who would like to be a part are encouraged to attend. For further information, contact the Oxford Performing Arts Center at 256-241-3322.
History
The original Oxford Performing Arts Community Chorus was organized by the Oxford Arts Council in 1982. Bill Barker was the Director, and Bobbie McMahan was the Accompanist. The first concert was presented on July 5th, 1982, at the Oxford Civic Center. The Chorus presented three additional concerts before disbanding in 1984.
The Oxford Arts Council reorganized the Oxford Community Chorus in June of 2014, with performances to be held at the Oxford Performing Arts Center. Don Gober is the Chorus Director and Gwen Moore is the Accompanist. Accompanying the Chorus is a small orchestra.

Fall Holiday Concert: November 18th, 2025 at the Oxford Performing Arts Center. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. and admission is free.
Rehearsals begin for the Summer Patriotic Concert: February 10th, 2026
