Titouan Lamazou: Portraits of Resilience Amidst Conflict

Event Details

The Martin-Lett Gallery of Art in the Oxford Performing Arts Center is proud to host Titouan Lamazou: Portraits of Resilience Amidst Conflict. The collection, on loan from a private collector, features Titouan Lamazou’s portraits of women who live in countries experiencing war, violence, and instability. His work captures the women’s dignity, courage, and beauty as they live within their own environments, whether in caves, apartments, worksites, or other personal spaces.

Dr. Joan Fobbs will present a lecture on Titouan Lamazou on February 23, 2026 at 6 PM at the Martin-Lett Gallery of Art in the Oxford Performing Arts Center. Dr. Fobbs will explore Lamazou’s ability to earn the trust of the women he portrays, enabling him to bring their stories to the outside world, and will delve into several of the powerful narratives they revealed. This lecture is hosted by the Oxford Arts Council.
